We received an update today from Openreach on the Kilndown and Slade fibre broadband project.
As you know the project has been running on schedule with a planned completion date of the end January 2022. However, the delivery team have run into a problem and have had to apply for a road closure permit for Hog Hole Lane, Lamberhurst to finish the project.
Due to the lead time in obtaining permits, they have advised me that the planned date for completion of the project is now 31st March.
You may also recall that the vouchers to fund the scheme are only valid for 12 months, so Openreach will apply to the DCMS and request that this is extended to cover the delay.
I will update again as soon as I receive more news.
